Well, here is the latest addition to the SWW lineup-salt and pepper shakers. I have a large pile of small 3x3x7 inch blocks in various domestic hardwoods that I've been wondering what to do with and I hit on the idea of salt and pepper shakers. I needed to figure out a method for drilling out the inside and holding the drilled block of wood on the lathe and I also needed a simple design that would not be difficult to reproduce. Here's what I've come up with so far:
I don't have any process photos right now. I have a friend who will test them out in her kitchen for me so I'll be making a set out of hardwood over the next day or so and I'll take pictures and show you how I made them.
