Hi Everyone,
There is a annual iron pour that is held by the West End Arts association of St. Paul. They do it every fall and it is really an event to see. They have a group of metal artists who come and set up an iron smelter on the premises of the old Schmidt brewery on west 7th in St. Paul. They melt scrap iron and then pour it into molds. The next day when the iron has cooled and solidified, they break open the molds and viola! you have your very own piece of iron art. It's really fun to go and see the process. And they have live music and food (and they have a very cool poster).
Here is a link to their blog: http://westendarts.blogspot.com/. And unless a meteor hits the Twin Cities, I'm gonna be there!
